lots of kids bowlingBig Brothers Big Sisters serves children aged 6 and up who can benefit from having an additional positive adult role model. These youth are referred to Big Brothers Big Sisters either through a parent, guardian, guidance counselor or teacher. They can come from single and two-parent homes and from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. The reason behind a match is that a parent, guardian or teacher believes the child could benefit from the presence of an additional caring adult in his/her life. The parent or guardian gives permission for the child to participate. There are three types of mentoring, Community-based, Site-based and Sports Buddies.

Youth:

  • Initially be aged 6 to 13
  • Seek a mentor
  • Welcome fun and guidance
  • Safety-focused enrollment process
